2:08 p.m., Feb. 10, 2011----Rachel Eliza Griffiths, a University of Delaware alumna, will read from her latest collection of poetry, The Requited Distance, at 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18, at the Clifford Brown Performance Center on the second floor of the Christina Cultural Arts Center in Wilmington, Del.
The reading is sponsored by the University of Delaware Department of Black American Studies in celebration of Black History Month.
Griffiths is a poet, painter and photographer whose visual and literary work has been widely published. She received a master of arts degree in English literature from UD.
The event starts at 6 with a poetry reading followed by a question and answer session and book signing. The Requited Distance will be available for sale that night and Griffiths will sign copies.
The Christina Cultural Arts Center is located at 705 N. Market St., in Wilmington. An event flyer is available in PDF format and it includes directions.
