9:47 a.m., Dec. 22, 2010----University of Delaware offices will close for the winter holidays beginning at 5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 23.
University offices will reopen on Monday, Jan. 3.
Residence halls will open for Winter Session students from 2-9 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 2, and check-in will continue from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday, Jan. 3.
Following is information on specific services.
University of Delaware Library
The Morris Library and the branch libraries are closed from Friday, Dec. 24, through Sunday, Jan. 2.
Books due before Thursday, Dec. 23, need to be renewed through “Books I Have Checked Out” or returned to the Morris Library or any branch library. Book renewal by telephone is available at (302) 831-2455 only during the hours that the Morris Library is open.
The University of Delaware electronic library, which provides a rich array of resources online, including DELCAT, World Cat, databases, Ejournals, subject guides and more, is available 24/7.
University Bookstore
The University Bookstore at the Perkins Student Center is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., through Thursday, Dec. 23; 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24; closed, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 25-26; 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, Dec. 27-31; and closed, Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 1-2. The YoUDee Shop is closed through Jan. 2. Winter Session hours begin on Monday, Jan. 3.
Box offices
The Trabant University Center box office is closed through Jan. 2.
The Bob Carpenter Center box office is closed through Jan. 1 and will be open from 12:30-3 pm., Sunday, Jan. 2, for women's basketball game day ticket sales.
Winter Session hours for both box offices begin Monday, Jan. 3.
Development Office
For the convenience of donors who wish to make a donation, the Office of University Development can be reached at (302) 831-2104 and will be staffed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, Dec. 27-31. Gifts may be made online at [www.udel.edu/makeagift].
Rust Ice Arena
Special holiday skating sessions at the Fred Rust Ice Arena will be held from 1-3 p.m., Thursday and Friday, Dec. 23-24; 1-3 p.m. and 8-10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, Dec. 26-30; from 1-3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 31. Sessions also will be held 1-4 p.m. and 8-10 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 1; and 1- 3 p.m., Sunday and Monday, Jan. 2-3. The afternoon session on Jan. 1 will include a live disc jockey, and the session on Jan. 2 will include a live WSTW remote broadcast.
