Blue and Gold will compete to see which team can earn the most points based on the minutes of physical activities logged each week. All forms of activity count for this challenge - strength training, stretching, cardio-vascular training, recreational activities, fitness classes, and more.

Individuals can submit their weekly totals via an online form and weekly team totals will be posted on the HealthyU website. Bonus points can be earned by attending scheduled weekly activities, such as a Zumba exhibition class, games on The Green, lunchtime walks, beginner yoga class and fitness circuits.

There will also be a 5K fun walk and run on Creek Road at 5:15 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 21.

The “Dare to be fit” challenge will run for six weeks from Sept. 27 through Nov. 7. Cost is 20 Wellness Dollars.

Registration has begun and will continue through Sept. 24.

All participants will receive a team T-shirt and silicone wristband (either blue or gold) and a chance to win some great prizes.

A kickoff event is planned for Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Multipurpose Rooms A and B of the Trabant University Center. Participants can complete some easy fitness assessments and evaluate their current fitness level, meet their team members and rally with their team captains.

For more information and to register, visit the HealthyU Employee Wellness Program website or call 831-8388.
