Global Stories

Fulbright awards

Three University of Delaware students and an alumna have received word this spring that they will travel abroad as part of the newest class of Fulbright Student Program award winners.

Peace Corps plans

Two University of Delaware students, John McCarron and Bridgette Spritz, have been selected as Peace Corps volunteers and will serve in Ghana and Rwanda.

“The agreements reflect our efforts to articulate the foundation for increased student and faculty exchanges across institutions, while simultaneously advancing the strategic university goal of enhancing global initiatives,” said Ronet Bachman, professor and chair of the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice, who accompanied Watson abroad, along with faculty members Aaron Fichtelberg, Joanne Nigg and Ivan Sun.

During the visit to China, Watson met with senior administrators at both institutions and discussed possibilities for future partnerships with BNU’s School of Social Development and Public Policy and Xiamen University’s Colleges of Arts, Mathematics, and Chemistry.
