Those who are thinking about developing a new Winter or Summer Session study abroad program are encouraged to join staff from the Center for International Studies for an introductory “how-to” session on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. in Room 103 Sharp Laboratory.

Participants will hear from a panel of experienced study abroad program directors who will share ideas on topics such as:

* Program site selection
* Academic considerations
* Itinerary planning
* Recruitment of specific student groups
* Characteristics of a successful director

Staff from the Center for International Studies will guide the discussion, present the proposal process, and provide feedback on ideas for new programs. Lisa Chieffo, the center's associate director, will serve as the facilitator.

Register for the session by no later than Monday, Sept. 28, by sending e-mail to [lchieffo@udel.edu] or calling 831-2852. The session is sponsored by the Center for International Studies and the Center for Teaching Effectiveness.
