9:33 a.m., Sept. 15, 2009----The University of Delaware Library will present four workshops on RefWorks, a Web-based research management system provided by the library.
RefWorks is used to create and manage references, export references from databases, and generate bibliographies or reference lists. It is available from the library databases page.
Two levels of workshops are offered, introductory and advanced.
Introduction to RefWorks covers setting up an account, managing references, exporting references from research databases, and creating bibliographies and other basic features.
A workshop will be offered Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., in the Library Instruction Room (116A) on the first floor of Morris Library. Presenter will be William Simpson, senior assistant librarian.
A second workshop will be offered Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., also in the Library Instruction Room (116A). Presenter will be Erin Daix, associate librarian.
RefWorks Advanced covers exporting references from research databases, organizing references, using the Write-N-Cite feature to insert in-text citations, edit in-text citations, and create bibliographies or reference lists.
A workshop will be offered Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., in the Library Instruction Room (116A). Presenter will be Catherine Wojewodzki, librarian.
A second workshop will be offered Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 10 to 11 a.m., in the Library Instruction Room (116A). Presenter will be Carol Rudisell, librarian.
The workshops are available at no charge and are open to the University of Delaware students, faculty, and staff. Seating is limited and registration is required.
