A peer mentor is an upperclass student who serves as a resource and role model for first year students.

A peer mentor meets a required grade point average of 2.8 and is typically involved in several organizations around campus. Peer mentors serve as a liaison between a faculty member and approximately 22 first year students.

A list of roles and responsibilities can be found at the First Year Experience peer mentors Web site.

All peer mentors enroll in a one-credit training course in the second half of the spring 2010 semester. The application deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 27, and the application can be found at this Web page. Students with additional questions can contact [mbiery@udel.edu].
