iMovie '09: Building on a history of great video editing tools, Apple's new iMovie '09 provides more flexibility for working with themes, adding titles, transitions, and effects to movies with its updated drag-and-drop editor. This hands-on workshop will cover all of the basics of non-linear video editing and will also include discussion of how to “save” and move an iMovie '09 project to another computer.
The workshop will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, in the Student Multimedia Design Center Classroom B, Morris Library, Lower Level. Presenter will be Bryce Spencer, senior assistant librarian and Coordinator, Student Multimedia Design Center Services
iWeb '09: Apple's iWeb '09 provides the capability to design and publish blogs, photo albums, podcasts and more without advanced coding knowledge. Utilizing customizable templates and iWeb's easy-to-use tools, it is possible to create a great-looking website with ease.
This hands-on workshop will cover the basics of iWeb '09, including how to publish your files to the web, and how to move an iWeb project to another computer.
The workshop will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22, in the Student Multimedia Design Center Classroom B, and Spencer will be the presenter.
LiveType 2: Apple's LiveType provides a video editing tool with robust options for creating text. LiveType provides users with creative control through its collection of live fonts, custom effects, animated elements, and more. This hands-on workshop will cover how to build animated text, export the text as a video file, and incorporate the file into other video projects.
The workshop will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, in the Student Multimedia Design Center Classroom B, and Spencer will be the presenter.
Motion 3: Apple's Motion provides users with the flexibility to take two-dimensional graphics and create 3D animations. With Motion's intuitive interface, filters, effects, time saving tools, and real-time environment users can create high quality video in a short amount of time. This hands-on workshop will introduce the basics of Motion, teach how to import and manipulate Photoshop projects, and how to export the animation as a video file.
The workshop will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 10, in the Student Multimedia Design Center Classroom B, and Spencer will be the presenter.
The workshops are available at no charge and are open to University of Delaware students, faculty, and staff. Seating is limited and registration is required. To register online, go to the workshops Web page.
