Editor's note: It was announced Wednesday, Sept. 30, that the Maroon 5 concert at UD has sold out.
9:42 a.m., Sept. 21, 2009----The multiplatinum-selling band Maroon 5 is set to perform for University of Delaware students at the Bob Carpenter Center on Monday, Nov. 16.
Tickets for UD students go on sale at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 24, at the box offices in the Trabant University Center and the Bob Carpenter Center, and early purchase is recommended. UD student tickets are $20 each, and individuals with valid UD IDs may purchase up to four tickets. General public tickets will go on sale on Monday, Sept. 28, at $35 each, and will be available at UD box offices and through Ticketmaster.
The show is sponsored by the Student Centers Programming Advisory Board (SCPAB) at the University.
“This will be SCPAB's biggest event of the semester, and it's not to be missed,” Melissa Blazejewski, SCPAB's vice president for advertising, said. “Maroon 5's shows sell out to crowds of enthusiastic fans, and we expect this concert to be a great success for the University of Delaware.“
On Nov. 16, doors will open at 7:30 p.m., and the show begins at 8: 30 p.m., with opening performer K'Naan.
Known around the world for its electrifying live performances, Maroon 5 has sold more than 10 million albums in the United States and nearly 15 million worldwide. Bandmates are Adam Levine (vocals/guitar), Jesse Carmichael (keyboards), Mickey Madden (bass) and Ryan Dusick (drums). Maroon 5's major hits include "Harder to Breathe," "This Love," "She Will Be Loved" and "Sunday Morning".
The Nov. 16 show at UD is part of Maroon 5's Back to School Tour.
