8 a.m., Sept. 23, 2009----University of Delaware students and alumnae are dressing up for a benefit for Goodwill Industries, sponsored by Creative Image Photography and Trilogy Salon and Spa, Monday, Sept. 28, at the salon at Red Mill Square Shopping Center.
Attendees are asked to donate a bag of clothes and will receive a bag of goodies in return. The event will include wine tasting, food, music and a fashion show, which is where UD enters the picture. Alumnae and others will model clothes, which are selected from Goodwill Stores, and students from UDress magazine will assist with the selection of the clothes and accessories.
The UDress staff has taken the event a step further, according to editor Jessica Lapidos, and has turned the styling into a competition, the first of four in its “Can UDress the Best?” challenge.
UDress stylist Adam Aronowitz will help the students with their selections, and UDress style editor Elizabeth Geisler, men's style editor Thomas Barranca and Lapidos will judge the ensembles in the fashion show and declare a winner.
The models include alumnae Bridgette Erhard, Jenni Fleck Jones, Amy Libonate and Terri Wasdyke, plus Susan Donaghy, Linda Fellicetti, Pamela Mayse and Chris Sopa. Student stylists include Colleen McCardle, Sue Murray, Jenny Mancini, and Erika Taylor.
Robert Horton, co-owner of Creative Image Photography, is also a UD alumnus.
For more information about the benefit, call (302) 731-9142.
