2:30 p.m., Sept. 21, 2009----The Episcopal Campus Ministry at the University of Delaware will co-sponsor a concert by John Francis at 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on South College Avenue.

Francis was raised in a Pennsylvania farming town and draws on rock and roll, folk and country music in his eloquent brand of songwriting. He recently completed his second full-length recording, “The Better Angels,” on which he worked with producer John Carter Cash.

In October 2005, Francis released the critically acclaimed “Strong Wine and Spirits,” which featured the hit song “Heavy, Heavy Love.” He was honored by ASCAP in 2006 as the recipient of the prestigious Sammy Cahn Lyricist of the Year Award.

Cost of the concert is $5 for students with UD identification, and $10 for the general public. The cost includes entertainment as well as coffee and dessert.
