Richard Wool, professor of chemical engineering and director of the Affordable Composites from Renewable Sources (ACRES) program, was cited in an Oct. 8 article in The Times (London) for his work on hydrogen fuel storage using carbonized chicken feathers.

The UD appearance by David Axelrod, senior adviser to President Barack Obama, received widespread coverage, with reporting by the News Journal, the Associated Press and Fox News. The user-generated CNN iReport site noted the presentation was available through Second Life.

Michael Gotch, actor, Sanford Robbins, chairperson of the Department of Theatre, and UD's Resident Ensemble Players were featured in a strong review of the Doug Wright work I Am My Own Wife by Greer Firestone in the Oct. 8 Community News.

Ingrid Pretzer-Aboff, assistant professor in the School of Nursing, was quoted in an Oct. 8 NurseZone.com story about restorative nursing.

Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair and director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, was quoted in an Oct. 7 MarketWatch article about controversial legislation being considered by Congress to split the position of chairman and CEO while giving shareholders greater say in the election of directors, and in an Oct. 6 CBS MoneyWatch article and an Oct. 7 USA Today article about plans by the Federal Reserve to act on bank pay. “The same Federal Reserve that allowed banks to take risky investments is now entrusted to reform compensation?" Elson asked USA Today. "If someone gets you lost in the woods, would that be the right person to get you out of the woods?"

Elson also was quoted in an Oct. 8 Charlotte (N.C.) Observer article on Bank of America, in an Oct. 7 New York Times DealBook blog on executive compensation and the Obama administration's pay czar, and in an Oct. 5 Bloomberg article about plans by CIT to expand its board of directors and what that could mean for the current CEO. “The lenders are seeking greater control over company management to protect their investment,” Elson said.

Lara M. Zeises, a 1997 UD graduate, was featured in an Oct. 5 News Journal article about her new novel, The Sweet Life of Stella Madison.

Sanford Robbins, chairperson of the Department of Theatre, was quoted in an Oct. 4 Philadelphia Inquirer article about ensemble acting. "It's rare that an all-star team is as good as a really good regular team, even though you may pick the best players. In ensemble acting, there's a cohesion and harmony in the way the roles are played," he said, "and the sum is more powerful than the parts."

Gerald J. Kauffman, project director of the Institute for Public Administration Water Resources Agency, was quoted in an Oct. 4 News Journal article about the future of the Christina River.

Muqtedar Khan, associate professor of political science and international relations, was quoted in an Oct. 4 News Journal article about teaching Afghan ways to American soldiers at an Indiana National Guard training center.

James Butkiewicz, professor of economics, was quoted in an Oct. 3 Cherry Hill (N.J.) Courier-Post article about New Jersey public revenue streams, with comparisons to other states in the region. He noted that Woodrow Wilson “chased the corporations out of New Jersey,” with Delaware retaining pro-business policies and becoming the corporate capital.
