11:29 a.m., Oct. 2, 2009----The University of Delaware Office of Alumni Relations has announced a variety of special events in coming weeks, with Blue Hens gathering from Newark to Seoul.
In a major international alumni event, UD President Patrick Harker will host a gala on Friday evening, Oct. 16, at the Grand Hilton in Seoul, South Korea.
The keynote speaker at the event will be Byong-Man Ahn, Korea's minister of education, science and technology, who has received an honorary doctorate from the University of Delaware and has been a longstanding friend of UD's School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy.

In other alumni club news:
New Castle County young alumni will gather from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, at McGlynn's Pub off Polly Drummond Hill Road in Newark. The cost is $10 per person. Alumni who plan to attend can register online.
The Baltimore Alumni Club will hold its monthly gathering from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, at Mex, 26 Market Place, Baltimore. Also, the club is planning to join with the Washington, D.C., Alumni Club to co-sponsor a tailgate tent for the Blue Hens football game at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis on Saturday, Nov. 14.
