11:30 a.m., Oct. 6, 2009----The first University of Delaware Pink Out, an event to raise awareness of breast cancer, will be held at noon, Thursday, Oct. 15, on the North Green.
Students and community members dressed in pink will form a large pink ribbon on the Green.
The event is sponsored by UD Colleges Against Cancer, the City of Newark and the Newark Arts Alliance, which has placed pink ribbons on light poles along Main Street.
American Cancer Society representatives will be on hand for the Pink Out with water and useful information about cancer prevention.
