9:01 a.m., Oct. 29, 2009----The “Picture This: Your Health Reframed” health fair organized by students in a University of Delaware high-risk nursing course with help from the Student Nurses Organization, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the Trabant University Center food court.

Also, there will be screening of the documentary film The Business of Being Born at 6:30 p.m. The film will be followed by a panel discussion.

Lisa McBeth-Snyder, instructor in the School of Nursing and coordinator of the Maternal-Child Simulation Laboratory, said the event is “about young women and men gaining knowledge about living healthy lives” and helping them ensure that when they do decide to have children “the time is right” and the young women “actually have a healthy pregnancy and baby.”

Topics to be covered will include domestic violence, environmental safety, contraception, nutrition, drugs and alcohol, among others. They will be offering a risk assessment to University of Delaware students to promote understanding and increase awareness of the many factors that can impact one's health.
