10:32 a.m., Oct. 1, 2009----University of Delaware experts in art and history will present gallery talks surrounding the "Sound: Print: Record: African American Legacies" exhibition that is on view at Mechanical Hall Gallery until Dec. 6.

The talks and exhibition are free and open to the public.

The talks, which will be held in Mechanical Hall Gallery on Wednesdays, are scheduled as follows:

Oct. 14, 12:30 p.m.: "Recording History," by David Suisman, assistant professor of history.

Oct. 28, 3 p.m.: "The Story Behind the Image: Cultural Contexts and Historical Events," by Colette Gaiter, associate professor of art.

Nov. 4, 12:30 p.m.: "Radio Daze," by J. Ritchie Garrison, director of the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture and professor of history.

Nov. 11, 3 p.m.: "Nina Simone," by Mary Ruth Warner, supplemental faculty in women's studies.

Nov. 18, 3 p.m.: "The Missionary Project," by Julie McGee, curator of University Museums.
