10:02 a.m., Oct. 26, 2009----Mrs. Ruth E. Evans, 74, of Newark, died Oct. 18, 2009, at Heartland Hospice House.
She was employed with the University of Delaware as an administrative assistant in the student health center for 30 years before her retirement. She was a longtime parishioner of the Thomas More Oratory and a member of the Wellness Community. In her leisure hours, she greatly enjoyed visits to the beach and attending Broadway plays in New York City.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Ellis Evans; daughters, Libby Ermak (Thomas) of Bear, Del.; and Marielle Carlson (Mark) of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; brother, George Debauche (Grace) of Concordia, Kans.; sister, Edna Rogge (Adolf) of Witchita, Kans.; and 4 grandchildren, Matthew Ermak, Ryan Ermak, Glynnis Carlson and Shyler Carlson.
