Tarburton will speak about the many facets of the USDA Rural Development Program. For more than 70 years -- and under several different names -- the Rural Development Program has served rural areas of the United States with financial and technical assistance to improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.

“From assistance to Latino-owned businesses to supporting the construction of a volunteer fire station in a rural community, the USDA Rural Development Program can boast of many success stories here in Delaware,” says Jan Seitz, associate dean of the University of Delaware College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and director of UD Cooperative Extension. “I'm looking forward to Jack's update about this important program.”

The Friends of Agriculture Breakfast will be held at the Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forest Ave., Dover, beginning at 7:15 a.m. Registration is $20. For more information, or to register, call Alice Moore at (302) 831-2504.
