In April, Barr and a television crew shot part of his show, Dangerous Encounters, at UD's Human Performance Laboratory.

The episode, titled “Instant Death,” will air Saturday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel, and again Monday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m.

Researchers and students at the Human Performance Laboratory tested Barr's reaction time, which was then compared to the strike times of animals including rattlesnakes, crocodiles, cheetahs and others.

The Human Performance Lab at the University of Delaware contains nine individual research laboratories. Faculty in the HPL specialize in various disciplines including sports medicine, biomechanics, motor control and physiology.
