3:46 p.m., Nov. 5, 2009----The Courtyard Newark at the University of Delaware is hosting the first weekend for members of its VIP (Very Important Parents) Program on Friday through Sunday, Nov. 6-8.
Just for members of the VIP Progam, which is now nearly 1,000 strong, the weekend will begin Friday with a reception in the hotel lobby and display tables from local businesses that are partnering to offer specials to VIP members. Saturday morning starts with a buffet breakfast, hosted by YoUDee and a chance for a family photo. Then, it's off on the UD bus to the Blue Hen football game against Hofstra University at Delaware Stadium.
Saturday evening offers some free time for parents to enjoy the Newark area with students and friends. Sunday morning starts again with a buffet breakfast, and then parents can enjoy discount tickets to area attractions, such as Hagley Museum, Longwood Gardens, Winterthur and Brandywine River Museum.
“A special guest room rate and special seating at football game are all part of the offering to make this a very special weekend for the VIP parents,” Bill Sullivan, managing director of the hotel, said. “We're very excited about this special weekend.”
Membership in the Courtyard VIP Program is free, and details are available on the hotel's Web site, as is information on the VIP weekend and a link to sign up online.
