11:02 a.m., Nov. 10, 2009----The University of Delaware Army and Air Force ROTC will participate in a 12-hour run on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, honoring the memory of soldiers missing in action and prisoners of war, as well as soldiers who have served and are currently serving in the U.S. military.
Cadets will run around the University's Green, from Delaware Avenue to Laurel Hall, carrying the American flag and the POW flag. Each cadet will take turns carrying the flag throughout the day.
“We are doing this to honor soldiers, past and present, and to generate awareness of soldiers' sacrifices to students on campus,” a representative of the UD ROTC units said.
