Stanton will speak on the topic "Pavlovian Conditioning and Comparative Cognition."

In an abstract on the presentation, Stanton said he will review the historical transformation of Pavlovian conditioning from the study of "spit and twitches" to the versatile technique and perspective for studying cognitive processes and brain memory systems that it has become today.

The presentation will consider a few key behavioral and neurobiological studies involving humans and experimental animals that illustrate this transformation and what it offers the future of comparative cognitive neuroscience.
