2 p.m., Nov. 24, 2009----Two schools in the University of Delaware College of Education and Public Policy will host open houses and information sessions for prospective graduate students on Friday, Dec. 4.

School of Education

The School of Education will hold its open house and graduate information session from 1-4 p.m. Prospective graduate students will have the opportunity to learn more about the school's full-time academic programs from both an academic and a more personal student perspective.

The open house will take place in the Willard Hall Education Building on Main Street on the Newark campus. The event will showcase the various full-time programs and degrees within the School of Education, including the Ph.D. in education, M.A. in school psychology, M.A. in teaching English as a second language, M.A. in teaching, M.Ed. in exceptional youth and children, and M.Ed. in higher education administration.

Prospective students will have the chance to learn about the highlights of the School of Education, talk to financial aid personnel about funding opportunities, meet with program faculty, and ask questions during a panel discussion of current students from the different programs. Refreshments will be served and parking stubs for the Trabant University Center garage will be validated.

School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy

The School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy (SUAPP) will hold two open house and information sessions in 187 Graham Hall on Academy Street on the Newark campus.

Check-in begins at 9 a.m. for the morning session and 11:30 a.m. for the afternoon session, with lunch being served at noon. Those interested in attending one of the sessions may contact the SUAPP office at (302) 831-1687 or send e-mail to [suapp@udel.edu] to reserve a place.

SUAPP and its affiliated research centers offer an extensive array of academic and research opportunities for students interested in a fulfilling career in the public, private or nonprofit sectors. The school is consistently ranked highly among schools of public affairs. SUAPP's graduate programs are rooted in applied research, integrated learning and public service. The school offers a master of public administration (MPA), a master of arts and Ph.D. in urban affairs and public policy, and new master of science and Ph.D. programs in disaster science and management.
