The student was taken to Christiana Hospital, where she is being treated.

According to Kevin M. Eichinger, chemical hygiene officer in UD's Office of Environmental Health and Safety, four small glass containers ruptured, causing the injuries.

Responding to the 911 call were the Newark Fire Department, New Castle County Emergency Medical Services, University Police, the University's ambulance crew and UD Environmental Health and Safety.

No hazardous materials were released, and evacuation of Worrilow Hall was not needed.
