April 23: Master Players to present 'Songs from the Eastern Pearl'

8:27 a.m., March 16, 2010----The fifth concert of the season in the University of Delaware Master Players Concert Series will feature “Songs from the Eastern Pearl,” and will be held at 8 p.m., Friday, April 23, in the Gore Recital Hall of the Roselle Center for the Arts on the UD campus in Newark.

The concert is presented by the UD Department of Music. Admission is $12 for the general public; $8 for senior citizens, UD faculty, staff and alumni; and $3 for students with ID and children. Tickets will only be available at the door, and only cash or check will be accepted.

Under the artistic direction of Xiang Gao, the internationally renowned UD faculty violinist, the Master Players Concert Series serves as a vital cultural resource for the UD campus, the city of Newark and surrounding communities. Season after season, the extremely successful concert series has brought many of the world's most established classical musicians to Delaware.

The April 23 concert will feature the East China Normal University Performing Group with special guest the UD String Quartet. Gao will serve as the master of ceremonies.
