More than 18 UD student groups and off-campus bands and organizations will perform at this event. Cosponsors of the concert include SCPAB, Greek Council, BSU and Delta Sigma Pi.

UD President Patrick Harker will open the concert with welcoming remarks, and performers will include UD Kamaal, the UD Dance Team, Heartbeatz, the D-Sharps, the Deltones, Vocal Point, Vision, Mel-U-Dees, 5th Floor, Mad Sweet Pangs, Electric Blue Concept, The Racket Boys, Shane Palkowitz, Jagwire Lexis, the High Life and others. There also will be raffle prizes throughout the night.

The concert is free, but a $10 donation is requested. All of the proceeds from the event will go to rebuilding Villa Hospital in Haiti. The hospital was destroyed in the earthquake.

“We are hoping to raise $50,000 in all by the time our fundraising activities end,” said Rita Chang, one of the group's organizers. “We hope this concert also will help unite the UD community.”

Concert organizers are encouraging attendees to show their support by wearing Hope for Haiti T-shirts, which are available online and will be on sale at kiosks at the Trabant University Center every weekday from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Profits from the sale of the T-shirts also are being donated to the Villa Hospital cause.

In addition, on March 11, Dining Services will be serving Haitian food in all four UD dining halls.
