The Directors' Roundtable is described as a one and a half day “boot camp” designed to impact practical, real-world executive education on the issues facing directors sitting on public company compensation committees.

Featured speakers include Troy A. Paredes, Securities and Exchange Commission commissioner; Chief Justice Myron T. Steele of the Delaware Supreme Court; John W. White, partner with Cravath, Swain and Moore and former director of the SEC Division of Corporation Finance.

The program will provide the perspective from Washington, D.C.; teach the fundamentals of committee work step by step; offer information on the latest recommendations from the Conference Board's Task Force on Executive Compensation; show how top compensation consultants do their jobs; provide the viewpoint of the institutional investor community; and offer updates on new legal, regulatory and legislative requirements.

"This course will provide board members and their advisers an in-depth and substantive curriculum in compensation program design and execution," said Roger Coffin, associate director of the Weinberg Center. "We are going to teach the elements of compensation, how boards and top advisers structure programs, and impart our directors with a template for how compensation, and a committee, should work. Many director's colleges offer opportunities for networking, and we will too, but we will focus on the nuts and bolts of committee work."

The Weinberg Center, housed in UD's Lerner College of Business and Economics, is directed by Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair in Corporate Governance and an internationally recognized expert in the field.

The fee is $2,000 for Conference Board members and $2,500 for non-members. To register, contact Brandi Mathis at (212) 339-0241 or send e-mail to [brandi.mathis@conference-board.org].
