Titled “Getting Smashed with Lambda Chi and Kappa Sig,” this charity event will be held on the Kappa Sigma front yard, where participants will be asked to pay money to take a shot at an old car donated by a local auto body shop.

As part of the event, all proceeds will directly benefit the UDance campaign, which raises money each year towards both the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation and the Elizabeth Glazier Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

Over the past three years, UDance has raised more than $50,000 to benefit these organizations and this year they are looking to keep the great work rolling.

“We are excited to help out with all of the UDance efforts. UDance is something that has really taken a presence here at UD and we are excited to play a large part in its efforts this year,” said Zack Crespo of Lambda Chi Alpha about their involvement.

The fraternities plan on charging $3 to hit the car or $10 for four hits. T-shirts for the event will also be on sale that day for $10 apiece and those proceeds will directly benefit UDance, as well.

Said David McNamara of Kappa Sigma, “We really hope that the UD community shows a lot of support for our event. We believe it has a lot of potential to be a success, and it should be fun seeing a car get smashed for all of us.”

This year's UDance event will be held from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at the Delaware Field House.
