10:08 a.m., June 23, 2010----Joseph Manfred Ennis, 86, formerly of Smyrna, Del., died June 18 at Cokesbury Village Health Care in Hockessin.

Mr. Ennis worked for 45 years at the University of Delaware before retiring as an assistant registrar.

Mr. Ennis was born February 25, 1924, in Wilmington, Del., the son of the late Joseph Whitaker Ennis and Jane Sillman Kulp.

He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Services were held June 22 in the Faries Funeral Chapel in Smyrna and burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Asbury United Methodist Church, PO Box 330, Smyrna, DE 19977.
