8:25 a.m., July 27, 2009----The 17th annual Undergraduate Research Program's Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences In View, which is set for Monday, Aug. 10, and Tuesday, Aug. 11, will showcase the research and creative work of 56 University of Delaware summer undergraduate research scholars from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Education and Public Policy.

In View is comprised of 10-minute talks with five-minute question periods and breaks for refreshments.

On each day, concurrent talks will begin at 9 a.m. in Multipurpose Rooms A and C of the Trabant University Center, and will feature research and creative work in music, literature, philosophy, fine arts, and history, as well as research in anthropology, economics, education, human services, political science, public policy, and international relations.

For the second time year in a row, the University of Delaware Association of Retired Faculty (UDARF) will contribute monetary awards for the best student presentations in the categories of fine arts, humanities, and the social sciences. At 4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 11, first and second place awards will be announced for each category, and will be judged by a selected panel of UD faculty and staff.

Sponsors of the scholars' research include the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education and Public Policy, the Helen Pattison Fund, UNIDEL, and the Undergraduate Research Program.
