The bags and shoes were recovered and seized by the officers because of the possible relation to recent burglaries in Newark. In all, 250 pieces of footwear were recovered.

The shoes are wet and must be dried before any identification or analysis is done. The drying process is expected to take several days, and no further inspection of the items will take place until then.
