The University of Delaware's Division of Professional and Continuing Studies offers a range of certificates in the health care, legal and business fields. These practical programs offer concentrated study in a specific area and can be completed in a relatively short time through part-time study.

A certificate program information session will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 14, at the UD Downtown Center, 8th and King streets, Wilmington. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. The information session is free, but reservations should be made by calling (302) 831-7600.

Certificates featured at the information session include: Business Analyst, Clinical Trials Management, Finance for Non-Financial Managers, Health Care Risk Management and Patient Safety, Paralegal, Project Management, Six Sigma Green Belt, and Strategic Human Capital Management. A separate information session for the Financial Planning Certificate will be held in Newark on Feb. 4.

The information session is an ideal place for potential students to find out if the certificate would meet their needs. Attendees get information about the certificates, meet instructors and University program staff and have the opportunity to ask questions. Graduates from several of the certificate programs will be on hand, and refreshments will be served.

University of Delaware certificate program instructors combine strong academic credentials with extensive real-world experience in management, training and the professions. They bring a wealth of experience gained from working with outstanding organizations, including Fortune 500 companies, small businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

Classes for the certificates featured at the information session meet at the UD Downtown Center.

For all certificates, classes are scheduled to suit people who are already working. Time required to complete these certificates ranges from four months to one year.
