Marianne Carter, director of the Delaware Center for Health Promotion at UD, was featured in a Jan. 19 News Journal article about the statewide “Be Healthy Delaware: Walk It Off!” program created by the center. According to Carter, “Walking is an easy, safe, inexpensive and healthy way to reduce your risk for illness.” Delawareans are being encouraged to walk 10 miles per week for a 10-week period beginning March 2. The free program will be available weekly in the News Journal and online. Individuals can register at the Delaware Online site until March 1.
