12:23 p.m., Feb. 8, 2010----A new program in which eight University of Delaware graduate students will have an opportunity to serve as interns with Delaware arts and cultural organizations during the summer of 2010 has been announced by Debra Hess Norris, vice provost for graduate and professional education.
The program, which has funding of $24,000, is open to any fully matriculated graduate student from any unit of the University.
The selection process is competitive, and applications are due Feb 22.
The University's Museum Studies Program is administering the internship program, and additional information and application forms are available at the Museum Studies Web page.
The program is intended to introduce graduate students to other possible career paths and to help Delaware arts and cultural organizations enhance their missions by being able to provide expanded services.
The participating organizations include the Delaware Art Museum, Delaware Theatre Company, Delaware Historical Society, Delaware Humanities Forum and the Biggs Museum in Dover.
