10:51 a.m., Feb. 1, 2010----The University of Delaware Library will present nine workshops during the 2010 spring semester focused on iMovie '09, a multimedia program available at the Student Multimedia Design Center. Three levels of workshops are offered: basic, intermediate, and advanced.
iMovie '09 Basic: Building on a history of great video editing tools, Apple's latest version of iMovie provides more flexibility for working with themes, adding titles, transitions, and effects to movies with its updated drag-and-drop editor. This hands-on workshop will explore iMovie '09's intuitive interface, will teach how to manage and save a project, and will cover all of the basics of non-linear video editing.
Bryce Spencer, senior assistant librarian, will lead presentations in Classroom B of the Student Multimedia Design Center on the lower level of the Morris Library on these dates:
- Thursday, Feb. 11, 2:30-4 p.m.
- Tuesday, Feb. 16, 9- 10:30 a.m.
- Thursday, Feb. 25, 9-10:30 a.m.
iMovie'09 Intermediate: This hands-on workshop will focus on the intermediate level options in Apple's feature rich video editor, iMovie '09. Workshop participants will learn how to integrate audio into a project, how to create voiceovers, how to work with the precision editor and clip trimmer, how to make video and audio adjustments, and how to create a movie from photos.
Spencer will lead presentations in Classroom B of the Student Multimedia Design Center on these dates:
- Tuesday, March 8, 9- 10:30 a.m.
- Thursday, March 18, 9- 10:30 a.m.
- Thursday, March 25, 2:30-4 p.m.
iMovie'09 Advanced: While Apple's iMovie '09 is considered a first-step editor, its advanced features put this program in a class above the competition. This hands-on workshop will teach participants how to add keywords and markers, how to stabilize video, how to integrate picture-in-picture, and how to work with green-screen effects.
Spencer will lead presentations in Classroom B of the Student Multimedia Design Center on these dates:
- Monday, April 12, 9-10:30 a.m.
- Tuesday, April 20, 9- 10:30 a.m.
- Thursday, April 29, 2:30-4 p.m.
The workshops are available at no charge and are open to University of Delaware students, faculty, and staff. Seating is limited and registration is required. To register online, go to this Web page.
Questions about the workshops can be sent to the library via email to [lib-workshops@udel.edu] or answered by calling (302) 831-2432.
