The organizations have formed a new group, UniteD Students for Haiti, which is committed to rebuilding a Haitian hospital, Villa, that was destroyed in the earthquake.

According to one of the organizers, Rita Chang, “We are rebuilding Villa Hospital because without us, Villa may not receive adequate healthcare ever again. It will cost $50,000, of which we have raised $15,000 so far. Extraordinary challenges are ahead -- and we need your help. Villa needs their healthcare back today. Tomorrow, someone will go untreated, someone will possibly die. Together we can benefit this resilient, yet devastated, community.”

To raise money for this effort, the students are planning a benefit concert, awareness weeks, a race, wrist band and T-shirt sales.

Members of the University community who would like to get involved with UniteD Students for Haiti should contact Chang at [rkchang@udel.edu] or Matt Watters [mwatters@udel.edu].
