10:47 a.m., Feb. 15, 2010----The Zeta Beta Tau and the Kappa Alpha fraternities at the University of Delaware are holding fundraising activities this week to benefit relief efforts in Haiti.


Get on the Ball


The Epsilon Theta chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity is raising funds for the Haiti Relief Foundation with the Red Cross, through a special “Get on the Ball” event.

From Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 16-19, fraternity members will be rolling a giant 6-foot ball around the campus and asking members of the University community to sign it for a suggested donation of $1.

The schedule calls for the ball to be in the following locations from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.: The Green, Tuesday, Feb. 16; the Smith quad, Wednesday, Feb. 17; Laird Campus, Thursday, Feb. 18; and Trabant University Center, Friday, Feb. 19.

KAndy for a KAuse

The Kappa Alpha fraternity is collecting money for Haiti efforts in front of its house, the KAstle, at 19 Amstel Ave. In exchange for a donation of any amount, donors will receive a piece of candy. Donations are also being collected at The Cereal Bowl on East Main Street.

Candy and other gifts for this activity were donated by BJ's and The Cereal Bowl.
