8:05 a.m., Dec. 1, 2009----Franz Joseph Haydn ranks as one of the greatest figures of the Enlightenment and the University of Delaware Department of Music will mark the 200th anniversary of the death of this particular giant of accomplishment, longevity, productivity and genius with a performance of his celebrated oratorio, The Creation, at 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, in Mitchell Hall.

This masterwork will feature soloists, Elizabeth Racheva, soprano, Blake Smith, tenor, Robert Brandt, baritone, with Tracy Richardson, cembalo, the UD Schola Cantorum choir, prepared by Krystal Rickard, and the UD Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Brian Stone.

Tickets cost $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and $3 for students, and are available at the box office or by calling (302) 831-2204.
