8:46 a.m., Aug. 3, 2009----The City of Newark will flush water mains between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, along South Chapel Street south of the railroad tracks.
The city plans to isolate the line from the area north of the tracks, which should limit the impact to those facilities connected south of the tracks. Those facilities include the University of Delaware's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the White Chapel development.
City officials warn that there could be fluctuations in water pressure and water discoloration during the flushing. If you have any questions, contact the water department at 366-7055.
