11:52 a.m., April 1, 2010----Ben Yagoda, professor of English at the University of Delaware, will present a free public reading titled “How 'Truthy' Does a Memoir Have to Be?” from 5-6 p.m., Thursday, April 15, in Room 127 Memorial Hall as part of the Department of English Speakers' Series.

Yagoda has taught English, journalism and writing at UD since 1992. He is the author, coauthor or editor of nine books, including Memoir: A History, The Sound on the Page: Style and Voice in Writing, Will Rogers: A Biography, When You Catch an Adjective, Kill It, About Town: The New Yorker and the World It Made, and The Art of Fact: A Historical Anthology of Literary Journalism, coedited with Kevin Kerrane, UD professor of English.

He has written for Slate.com, the New York Times Book Review and Magazine, the American Scholar, Rolling Stone, Esquire, the Chronicle of Higher Education, the New Republic and many other publications.
