The Student Multimedia Showcase celebrates successful multimedia projects that University of Delaware students have created throughout the semester using the resources available in the Student Multimedia Design Center.

Instructors are encouraged to nominate the best multimedia projects created by students in their classes during the 2009/2010 academic year. The multimedia projects can be on any subject, and should combine two or more of the following: video files, text, audio, still images, or animation.

Submissions of a data file of the multimedia project(s), plus a completed nomination form are to be made to the Student Multimedia Design Center on the lower level of Morris Library. The deadline is Monday, May 10.

The length of the nominated project is to be no more than four minutes long, meaning that instructors may have to choose only a four-minute segment of the project to show. Although there is no minimum on the number of nominations that may be submitted, only a representative number of all nominations received will be shown.

All nominations will be posted on the Web page of the Student Multimedia Design Center Student Spotlight after the showcase.

Submitted videos may be made available to the public. Instructors submitting nominations need to be sure that the authors of the projects followed U.S. Copyright Law in incorporating video, audio and text content into the multimedia programs submitted, and have permission from individuals whose image or voice is included.

More information is available at the Student Multimedia Design Center Web page or by contacting Shelly McCoy, head, Student Multimedia Design Center, or Bryce Spencer, coordinator, Student Multimedia Design Center Services, at (302) 831-8832.
