The feature-length film chronicles how the proliferation of one typeface (which recently marked its 50th birthday) influenced the way type now affects our lives. Independently made, the film is currently being shown at film festivals, museums, design conferences and cinemas worldwide and is getting good reviews.

The screening event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with opening remarks by Bob Fleck, president of Oak Knoll Press and Oak Knoll Books; Rich Roat, type designer and president of House Industries; and Jim Lecky, president of the Delaware College of Art and Design. The film will begin at 7 p.m. and will be followed at 8:30 p.m. with a discussion.

The event, sponsored by UD's visual communications program and Raven Press, is open to the public, and design students are particularly encouraged to attend. For more information about the event, call (302) 528-8528.
