10:51 a.m., Oct. 3, 2008----The University of Delaware Library will offer a workshop on “Historical Newspapers.” In addition, the University of Delaware Library will offer workshops on “RefWorks.”
All workshops below are open to University of Delaware students, faculty and staff and to the general public. Seating is limited and registration is required.

RefWorks workshops
The UD Library will offer multiple, identical workshops on RefWorks, a Web-based research management system provided by the library. Two levels of workshops will be offered.
The Introduction to RefWorks workshops will cover setting up an account, managing references and other basic features. They will be offered on:
- Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2-3 p.m.; and
- Tuesday, Nov. 18, 10-11 a.m.
The RefWorks Advanced workshops will cover exporting references from research databases, organizing references, using the Write-N-Cite feature to insert in-text citations, editing in-text citations and creating bibliographies or reference lists. They will be offered on:
- Tuesday, Oct. 21, 10-11:30 a.m.; and
- Monday, Nov. 24, 3:30-5 p.m.
Historical Newspapers workshop
The UD Library will offer a workshop on using historical newspaper databases and Web resources to find biographical and genealogical information in American newspapers. The Historical Newspaper workshop is scheduled from 3-4:15 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16.
Linda Stein, associate librarian, Reference Department, and Rebecca Knight, associate librarian, Reference Department, will provide strategies and advice for searching America's Historical Newspapers (1690-1922), The Historical New York Times (1851-2005) and The Pennsylvania Gazette in Accessible Archives (1728-1800).
