9:24 a.m., Nov. 21, 2008----National Public Radio's weekly program, Science Friday, will include an interview with Craig Cary, UD professor of marine biosciences in the College of Marine and Earth Studies. During the interview, Cary will be aboard the RV Atlantis, a research ship hundreds of miles offshore in the Pacific Ocean.

The interview will highlight Cary and his team's expedition to explore deep-sea hydrothermal vents.

Science Friday host Ira Flatow will speak live on the phone with both Cary and members of a research team working in the field in Antarctica. Cary spearheads that team through a joint appointment he maintains at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Science Friday broadcasts live from 2-4 p.m. EST today. Cary's interview will air at approximately 3:45. The program airs on WAMU and is available as a live stream.
