8:18 a.m., Nov. 18, 2008----Jerry Mitchell, director of the Center of Excellence for Geographic Education, will present a lecture titled “Evaluating Post-Katrina Recovery in Mississippi” at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21, in Room 205 Gore Hall.

The talk will focus on the ongoing results of a research project designed to provide an understanding on the factors that influence the rate of recovery from Hurricane Katrina and the potential inequalities in the process. Among the issues discussed will be the current and antecedent social and physical conditions driving the recovery pace.

The lecture is co-sponsored by the University of Delaware Department of Geography and the Delaware Geographic Alliance.
