3:34 p.m., Nov. 6, 2008----The University of Delaware is reminding students and families that UD is going paperless in the production of student bills this month. All paper bills will be replaced by electronic bills and made available online, according to representatives of the Billing and Collection Office.
Students who have pre-registered for the Winter 2009 session will be notified at their preferred e-mail when a bill is available this month. Spring 2009 bills will be available mid-December. Bills can be accessed through UDSIS or by logging in at [www.udel.edu/paybill].
It is vitally important that students grant access to their e-bill to a designated parent or guardian's e-mail so that this authorized user can also be notified of a new bill, review current and past statements and make payments due. Access is granted through UDSIS under the “Finances” section, “Grant Parent E-Bill Access.”
Students and parents can access Frequency Asked Questions at [www.udel.edu/bill_coll/faqs_ebill.html] for more information on this initiative and how a student grants access to their parent or guardian through UDSIS.
The University has offered e-bills as an option since 2003 but is now designating electronic billing as the official means of generating tuition bills. Students, parents and guardians accustomed to getting a bill through the mail will not receive one starting with the upcoming 2009 Winter Session.
Designed in partnership with University Information Technologies (IT), e-bills enable UD to provide enhanced service to students and parents, reduce costs and further support organizational missions, including sustainability.
For more information, contact Billing Services at (302) 831-2126 or via e-mail at [student-billing@udel.edu].
