Your student could spend a productive five weeks on campus, joining other motivated high school sophomores and juniors from across the country, living together on campus while taking freshman-level courses for college credit. Those credits are applicable to UD and most other accredited colleges and universities.

Students choose from an array of challenging courses taught by University professors.

Why consider applying to UD Summer College? The benefits are many. Selective institutions, like the University of Delaware, are interested in students who demonstrate the ability to succeed in college-level work in an independent environment.

Admissions officers are also looking for ways in which applicants can distinguish themselves. Students who attend Summer College benefit from exposure to the rigors of UD offerings and announce their interest in UD by spending five weeks on campus.

Besides being fully engaged as college students, Summer College participants enjoy day trips to major metropolitan areas up and down the East Coast, as well as the Delaware beaches.

Recreational facilities, including ice skating rinks, fitness centers, and swimming pools, as well as the Morris Library, dining halls and student centers are available. Students dine together, take on responsibilities of living away from home, and gain an understanding of what lies ahead as college students.

You can also use your tuition fee waiver to help defray the cost of Summer College. By using a fee waiver, additional program fees for Delaware residents are $1,645 and for out-of-state students, the fees are $2,315.

The program runs July 11 through Aug. 15 and the application deadline is May30.
