11:03 a.m., May 29, 2009----The University of Delaware Laboratory Preschool will host a casual, Caribbean-themed fundraising gala, “Playground in Paradise,” on Saturday, June 6, from 7-9 p.m. in the school's playground, located on Academy Street adjacent to Alison Hall.
Alumni, faculty, staff, friends and parents of current and former students of the school are invited to join the celebration, which marks the beginning of the Lab Preschool's 75th anniversary year.
The school has provided quality early childhood education, teacher training and a research platform in human development since 1934.
A tax-deductible donation of $25 per person in advance or $30 at the door is requested. Proceeds from the event will benefit the school's playground when it relocates to a new site on Wyoming Road in the fall of 2009.
According to the Lab Preschool's administrative coordinator, Sarah Bergan, the event will feature plenty of food, live music, a silent auction and door prizes. A cash bar will be available, so the event is strictly “adults only.”
