4:34 p.m., May 30, 2009----Four students in the University of Delaware's Class of 2009 were honored for achieving the highest grade point index earned in full-time study toward a University degree, during Commencement on May 30.

Delaware Gov. Jack Markell recognized:

Vincent Baldanza of Manahawkin, N.J., who received a bachelor of science in animal science with a concentration in preveterinary medicine;

Keith Pluymers of Mullica Hill, N.J., who received an honors bachelor of arts degree in history, with minors in philosophy and Irish studies;

Tessa Reisinger of Fairport, N.Y., who received an honors bachelor of arts degree with a double major in anthropology and biological sciences; and

Lauren Wansor of Wilmington, Del., who received an honors bachelor of arts degree with a double major in economics and political science and a minor in history.

To be eligible for this award, a graduating senior must have earned at least 75 percent of the total credits required for the degree at the University of Delaware and must have averaged a minimum of 15 credits per semester.
