8:36 a.m., May 12, 2009----The University of Delaware Department of Music will present two special concerts on Saturday, May 16, one a Schola Cantorum cabaret concert and the other a performance by the UD Children's Choir.
The Schola Cantorum concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Puglisi Orchestra Hall in the Roselle Center for the Arts on Orchard Road in Newark.
It will be a night of “Showstoppers and Sweets” as Schola Cantorum performs Broadway tunes in a cabaret setting. Tickets are $25 and include the show, desserts and beverages. Contact the music office at (302) 831-1527 to obtain tickets for the event. Paul D. Head will be the director.
The University of Delaware Children's Choir will perform at 3 p.m. in the Gore Recital Hall in the Roselle Center for the Arts. Tickets are $8 for adults, $3 for students, and are available only at the door.
The Children's Choir will be joined by the University Singers in their final concert of the season. Linda Wardell will be the director.
Auditions to join the Children's Choir beginning in the fall will be held as follows, all in the Amy E. du Pont Music Building:
